About the team

The Credit and Trade Loan team manages credit risk and trade investment activities across Castrol’s customer portfolio, helping the business balance commercial opportunities with effective credit and risk management. The team works closely with Sales, Finance, Credit Management and other stakeholders across multiple countries to support customers and enable sustainable business growth.

 Key tasks

• Perform regular and event-driven credit assessments and trade loan evaluations, in line with Credit Policy, Trade Loan Policy and Castrol Delegation of Authority.
• Analyse customer financial and commercial information to assess creditworthiness, identify risks and support informed credit decisions.
• Prepare and submit credit assessments, trade loan proposals, Authority to Negotiate (ATN) and Financial Memoranda (FM) for approval.
• Partner with Sales and other stakeholders to collect financial information, understand customer needs and balance commercial opportunities with credit risk.
• Manage and monitor the assigned credit exposure and trade loan portfolio, including credit limits, alerts, performance and potential risks.
• Monitor trade loan performance against agreed targets, analyse financial results and provide accurate reporting and recommendations.
• Support decisions on customer delivery blocks/unblocks and the appropriate level of securities, working with relevant stakeholders.
• Identify risks, resolve internal and external queries, and contribute to process improvements across Credit and Trade Loan activities.

Experience required

• Broad knowledge and practical experience of credit analysis and credit risk assessment.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in Credit Management, Financial Services, Auditing, Accounts Receivable, Cash Collection, Customer Relationship Management or a related credit environment.
• Experience gained within banking, financial services or a large/international corporate environment.
• Strong financial literacy, with the ability to understand and analyse balance sheets, P&L and cash flow information.
• Ability to assess complex situations, exercise sound judgement and balance customer, commercial and risk considerations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work effectively with Sales, Finance, Credit Management and other business functions.
• Ability to produce accurate, high-quality analysis and reporting within tight deadlines.
• University degree, preferably in Economics, Finance or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
