About the team

You’ll join the quality and laboratory team at Castrol’s lubricants plant in Gemlik, Bursa, where your hands-on chemistry work will help ensure raw materials and products meet the required quality standards. Reporting to the Quality & OMS Manager, you’ll work with colleagues across blending, filling and plant quality activities, as well as equipment suppliers, to support reliable testing and effective quality controls.

Key tasks

• Receive, record, prepare and analyse samples from raw materials, blending, production, filling and customer complaints. Evaluate and report results accurately to support quality assurance and approval processes, and coordinate the raw-materials control process.
• Keep track of changes to global standards and test methods and update laboratory methods accordingly. Maintain accurate sample logs, quality documents and laboratory procedures.
• Help oversee day-to-day laboratory operations and contribute to improvements across laboratory processes, including how samples and testing activities are organised.
• Prepare for ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 audits, completing your assigned quality and laboratory preparation activities.
• Monitor and implement the quality-related aspects of cross-functional changes to plant processes.
• Coordinate laboratory equipment and inventory arrangements with relevant suppliers, ensuring calibration, validation and maintenance take place at the required intervals. Prepare technical specifications for equipment purchases in line with the laboratory equipment purchase budget.
• Investigate and report customer complaints and investigate internal quality incidents as part of the plant’s quality support process, documenting findings and following up on identified issues.
• Support the Quality & OMS Manager in building a quality culture across the plant, in line with BP Quality Policies, and embedding Global Supply Chain Quality Standard requirements and control parameters into everyday practice.

Experience required

• A university degree in Chemistry.
• 1–2 years of experience in quality and laboratory activities.
• The ability to prepare and analyse lubricant samples accurately, evaluate results and maintain clear records in line with laboratory procedures.
• Willingness and ability to work a plant-based shift schedule, including night shifts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, so colleagues can understand your findings.
• A self-motivated, results-oriented approach, taking responsibility for completing your work and following issues through.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
