Job description
About the role:
In response to rising demand for AI and high-performance computing, Castrol’s Thermal Management team specializes in data centre cooling systems. Our new end-to-end offer is designed to help customers manage increasingly complex cooling requirements—from early-stage design through daily operations—making this a strategically important and fast-growing business area for Castrol.
The China Marketing Manager develops the marketing and communications plans for China’s data centre market, supports the leadership of the Castrol CORE brand with the right product portfolio, and executes marketing activities for the thermal management business in China. The role contributes to delivery of volume, turnover, and gross margin targets.
The China Marketing Manager is responsible for operational marketing excellence across the data centre team and for developing step-out opportunities for Castrol’s data centre cooling business beyond its core products, with a focus on new business models and value-added services.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Global Head of Data Centre Marketing and the Castrol Leadership Team to build and implement a strong marketing activation plan for China.
What you will deliver:
- Implement world-class thermal management marketing plans in China, adapting global thermal management offers to support the in-market strategy.
- Take full ownership of the development and deployment of marketing initiatives, including digital and social marketing, events, PR, and account-based marketing (ABM). Manage the planning, coordination, and delivery of marketing initiatives.
- Translate the brand essence and product portfolio into an end-to-end, offer-led marketing approach. Develop regional marketing and promotional strategies, define key customer segments, and create effective assets and communication platforms that maximize executional ROI and KPI performance.
- Partner with the China and regional business development teams to identify, define, align on, and pursue strategic priorities and targets with measurable business impact.
- Monitor key market developments and the competitive landscape across the data centre sector, generating business insights to inform media and market planning.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of marketing experience across branding, product marketing, and event management, including at least 5+ years in a B2B environment, with a proven track record of delivering innovative value propositions.
- Strong knowledge of the data centre industry and cooling value chain is an advantage.
- Ability to shape and frame ideas through strong conceptual and analytical thinking.
- Proven experience developing new business and growth opportunities within a corporate, innovation, or start-up environment.
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
- Self-motivation, strong execution, and excellent communication skills.
- A track record of collaborating effectively across cultures and with global teams.
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
At Castrol, we offer the following work environment and benefits:

- Opportunities to join our social communities and networks.
- Learning and development opportunities to help shape your career path.
- Life and health insurance, including a medical care package.
- A range of additional benefits.
