We work with some of the world's most ambitious climate leaders such as Microsoft, Swiss Re, and the World Economic Forum First Movers Coalition.

Your role & responsibilities:

We're looking for a motivated and skilled Frontend-leaning Full Stack Developer to help us build and evolve the digital backbone of our climate solutions. You’ll be a key player in crafting intuitive, performant, and visually engaging user experiences—while also contributing across the stack, from APIs to integrations. If you love turning complex workflows into elegant interfaces and care deeply about user-centric design, this might be your role.

From day one, you’ll collaborate directly with our CTO and agile product team, with plenty of ownership, room to grow, and a real impact on how we design and deliver software that matters.

What you'll do:

  • Drive the development of engaging, scalable frontend features for our MRV+ (Measurement, Reporting, Verification) and carbon marketplace platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with designers and other developers to bring high-quality user experiences to life.
  • Translate complex product and data requirements into intuitive UI components and user flows.
  • Contribute across the stack when needed—especially in crafting clean APIs, handling backend logic, or integrating new services.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand pain points and iterate rapidly on solutions.
  • Participate in architectural and UI/UX design discussions, helping shape the visual and functional direction of our software.
  • Support DevOps, CI/CD, and post-deployment improvements, with a frontend-first perspective.

What you bring to the table (required):

  • 3+ years of experience building production-ready web applications across the frontend and backend.
  • Strong passion for crafting beautiful, responsive, and accessible user interfaces.
  • Experience with React (or similar frontend frameworks), HTML/CSS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript practices.
  • Comfortable working with backend technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and SQL when needed.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and collaborative development workflows (Git, code reviews, etc.).
  • High degree of autonomy, creativity, and intrinsic motivation.
  • Excited to dive into new business domains and solve real-world problems.
  • Great command of English (German is a plus).
  • Open to occasional travel.

Benefits:

  • A ground-breaking business with an early foothold in the carbon removal industry and the ability to have a real impact on climate change
  • Small but rapidly growing, international team with a shared mission to address climate change
  • Flexible working hours and remote work with hybrid possible if you're close to Freiburg or Zurich
  • Competitive salary
  • 30 days paid leave + bank holidays
  • Sports benefits
  • nilo.health (Mental Health & Wellbeing)
  • Financial support for childcare
  • Nice colleagues and a friendly, open and inclusive environment

Candidates from cultures and backgrounds underrepresented in VC-backed startups and the climate space are strongly encouraged to apply. A diverse and inclusive workplace where we learn from each other is an integral part of our culture. We actively welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. We are an equal-opportunity employer. In the case of equal suitability, preference is given to structurally discriminated individuals.

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
