Battery field technician

CAFU is the first on-demand fuel delivery, our drivers are required to deliver and dispense fuel safely and efficiently while following the standard operating procedure - ensuring no danger to property or public.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Technician with a valid bike license to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing field service activities involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of battery systems for various applications. This role requires a strong understanding of battery technology, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair battery systems in various locations
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and preventive maintenance tasks on battery systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Diagnose technical issues with battery systems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide feedback on product performance and reliability
• Document all service activities, including installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks, accurately and comprehensively
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with battery systems and related equipment
• Communicate effectively with customers to address inquiries, provide technical support, and ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools required for field service activities
• Keep abreast of industry developments and advancements in battery technology to enhance skills and knowledge

Skills Required

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in battery technology, installation, maintenance, and repair
• Valid bike license with a clean driving record; ability to ride a bike safely and confidently
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand and power tools
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyse complex technical problems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Basic to good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various outdoor environments
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel to different locations as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a field technician or in a similar role within the renewable energy or power systems industry
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to battery systems and electrical installations
• Proficiency in understanding and using phone applications
