HSE Officer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and maintain all documentation and procedures including the HSEMS system on site.
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
  • Initiate and organize HSE trainings & TBTs for pilots, other employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Conduct safety walkabout in the depot to stop unsafe acts/conditions and report anomalies.
  • Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses.
  • Inspect the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformities.
  • Establish and enforce company safety policies, procedures and SOP as needed.
  • Conduct spot check on pilots to ensure that they are following the SOPs.
  • Conduct site safety visits to ensure safe delivery of product to clients.
  • Taking part in ER drills and act as an emergency responder during real emergencies.
  • Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
  • Review the Incident Action Plan for safety implications.
  • Review and approves all subcontractor’s safety plan.
  • Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste through DM portal.
  • Discover training needs of pilots and other employees and communicate to HSE Manager.
  • Ensure proper traffic and asset management within the depot.
  • Conduct routine checks on fire system, spill kits and other safety equipment’s both depot & trucks.
  • Carry out inspection of tools, ladders, and other safety critical equipment’s.
  • Carry out random alco-blow checks on pilots and report anomalies.
  • Carry out any other HSE related tasks or projects assigned by the HSE Manager.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED 

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in appropriate discipline with special emphasis on HSE duties
  • HSEMS documentation
  • HSE Officers on site
  • Site operation Health and Safety
  • Fire and first Aid Safety
  • Audit and compliance assessments
  • High level certificate, additional qualification in NEBOSH/IGC to understand and deliver health and safety on site
