Position Summary
The Lead AML Product Specialist, AI & Automation is responsible for improving AML workflows, systems and processes across the AML function.
The role will work closely with AML Operations, Investigations, Transaction Monitoring, KYC/KYB, Compliance, Data and Engineering teams to identify inefficiencies, improve processes and deliver scalable solutions. A key part of the mandate is to embed AI and automation into relevant workstreams, with measurable improvements in productivity, quality and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities

Own and prioritise product and process improvement initiatives across AML operations.

Review existing workflows and identify opportunities to simplify, automate or improve how work is performed.

Drive end-to-end improvements across transaction monitoring, investigations, KYC/EDD, STR/SAR preparation, sanctions screening and case management.

Work directly with AML teams to understand operational pain points and redesign workflows where appropriate.

Translate AML and regulatory requirements into clear product requirements for Engineering, Data and AI teams.

Develop practical solutions that reduce repetitive manual work and improve the quality and consistency of AML reviews.

Embed AI-enabled tools into relevant AML workflows and ensure they are adopted in day-to-day operations.

Ensure appropriate controls, human review, escalation and auditability are built into new processes.

Track outcomes such as analyst productivity, turnaround time, false-positive reduction, investigation quality and control effectiveness.

Be accountable for demonstrating meaningful application of AI and automation across the AML workstreams under the role’s remit.
Requirements

6+ years of experience in AML, financial crime, compliance technology, product management or a related field.

Strong understanding of AML operations, including transaction monitoring, investigations, KYC/KYB/EDD and suspicious transaction reporting.

Experience improving or implementing AML systems, workflows or operational processes.

Experience working with AI, automation or data-driven solutions.

Strong product management, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to translate AML operational needs into practical technology solutions.

Strong technology mindset and a track record of using new tools to improve how work is performed.

Experience in crypto, payments, fintech or financial services is preferred.
