Own and optimize core financial formulas across the platform: funding rates, index prices, mark prices, liquidation engines, margin models (UTA/cross-margin), insurance fund mechanics, and settlement logic

Identify and resolve edge cases, parameter inefficiencies, and risk-reward imbalances in existing financial models

Collaborate with Risk to support risk index development and financial logic optimization projects

Independently research and propose new financial products (derivatives, structured products, hybrid instruments) beyond the current roadmap

Conduct competitive analysis, market microstructure research, and user behavior analysis to identify product opportunities

Translate product concepts into rigorous financial specifications ready for engineering implementation

Build, mentor, and manage a team of financial engineers and product researchers (currently 4, growing)

Set clear goals, delivery timelines, and quality standards for the team

Foster a culture of self-driven research, intellectual curiosity, and data-informed decision making

Work closely with Trading Products to translate market needs into financial models

Provide BTE (exchange engineering) with precise formula specs, test cases, and validation criteria
-
Partner with Trading Ops on real-time parameter tuning and anomaly investigation
-
8+ years in quantitative finance, financial engineering, derivatives product design, or related fields
-
Deep understanding of derivatives pricing, risk models, margin systems, and market microstructure
-
Solid experience in both crypto exchanges and traditional financial exchanges (TradFi)

Proven track record of designing and shipping financial products

Strong intrinsic motivation to create and launch innovative financial products that don't yet exist in the market

Strong mathematical and analytical skills; comfortable with stochastic calculus, numerical methods, and statistical modeling

Experience leading and growing a technical team (4+ direct reports)

Ability to independently produce research and proposals — not just execute on a given roadmap

Excellent communication skills; able to distill complex financial concepts for cross-functional stakeholders

Bilingual (English + Mandarin) — team operates across English and Chinese-speaking contexts

Programming proficiency (Python, SQL, or similar) for data analysis, backtesting, and prototyping financial models

Hands-on trading experience (personal or professional)

Familiarity with exchange systems: order matching, liquidation, funding mechanisms
-
Background in quant trading, market making, or derivatives structuring at a top-tier firm
-
Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related quantitative field
