About this role in the team:

Customer onboarding and KYB verification are the gateway into our product ecosystem. It defines a customer’s first experience with our platform and determines how quickly and confidently customers can begin transacting at scale. The scope of this role includes designing and owning the customer-facing side of the onboarding journey, across UI, API, and decisioning systems, ensuring customers can move from initial sign-up to fully verified and active with clarity, speed, and trust.

You will have a high level of autonomy in shaping how businesses access our platform through onboarding. You’ll be responsible for developing a defensible, data-driven product strategy that balances customer experience, compliance requirements, and operational efficiency. This involves working closely with engineers and collaborating deeply with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Commercial, and Design teams to ensure our onboarding gateway is both seamless and compliant.

Our Product and Engineering organisation is structured around small, autonomous teams empowered to define and execute their own strategies while collaborating across the wider company. You’ll take ownership of the onboarding and KYB experience as we scale this critical entry point to our platform. Your work will directly influence activation rates, automated decisioning, risk mitigation, and the ability of customers to begin processing significant volumes quickly and safely.

As the Onboarding Experience PM, you will partner with engineering to build intuitive onboarding APIs, embedded flows, verification workflows, and the underlying systems that power them, such as identity checks, document collection, risk scoring, sanctions screening, and notifications. You will ensure this gateway into our platform is reliable, scalable, and built for global expansion. Ultimately, you will shape a world-class onboarding engine that enables businesses to unlock our products and grow with us, supporting multibillion-dollar transaction volumes with confidence.

 

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Own the full end-to-end customer onboarding experience across UI, API and documentation, continuously removing friction to improve conversion and onboarding speed.
  • Introduce experimentation frameworks such as A/B testing, progressive profiling, and dynamic verification tiers to optimise pass rates and activation.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive research and maintain a “KYB Benchmark Playbook” covering onboarding UX patterns, regtech vendors, and global KYB/AML trends.
  • Partner with the data team to build deep visibility into the onboarding funnel, defining KPIs like conversion, pass/fail distributions, onboarding time and other KPIs.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Commercial teams to translate regulatory requirements into intuitive, customer- and developer-friendly onboarding flows.
  • Collaborate daily with engineers to scope, design, and ship onboarding features, focusing strongly on API-first and embedded customer experiences.
  • Improve developer experience through high-quality API documentation, enhanced observability, and a sandbox environment for onboarding integration testing.
  • Champion a product-led culture by sharing customer insights, leading onboarding reviews, and data-informed decision-making across the business.

 

What we need from you

  • Experience owning high-growth, customer-facing KYB and onboarding products in a product-led fintech, payments, or identity environment.
  • Deep understanding of KYB/AML processes, including corporate verification, UBO structures, sanctions screening, EDD, and multi-jurisdiction requirements.
  • Bonus: experience implementing automated decisioning, risk-based onboarding tiers, or global onboarding architectures.
  • Strong background in building API-first and embedded products, with confidence in reading technical documentation and shaping developer-focused capabilities.
  • Ability to lead through context rather than authority, partnering closely with engineers in a collaborative, problem-first working style.
  • Proven experience working hand-in-hand with Compliance and Regulatory teams to deliver compliant, scalable onboarding solutions.
  • Customer-obsessed mindset grounded in continuous discovery, usability testing, feedback loops, and iterative improvement.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, comfortable working with engineering, compliance, commercial, design, sales, and leadership.
  • Confidence in presenting KPIs and product updates to cross-functional stakeholders and the broader company.
  • Experience in an intensely data-driven environment, using qualitative and quantitative insights to guide decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
  • A growth-oriented mindset, always seeking opportunities to accelerate customer activation, adoption, and long-term value through improved onboarding workflows.
