About this role in the team:

As a Senior Manager, Risk and Governance, you will play an instrumental role in implementing and embedding the risk management and governance frameworks at BVNK. Reporting into the VP Risk and Governance, you will provide support and guidance globally to the business functions of the BVNK Group.

This position requires an experienced risk leader, a versatile individual with experience in managing stakeholder relationships at all levels. You will have experience in developing and embedding risk and governance frameworks, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met and that risk management and governance are seen as value adding across the business.

In this role, you will be expected to take ownership of key components of the risk management and governance frameworks and build strong relationships with business stakeholders. You’ll work on cross-functional projects to support business growth, supporting the project teams to manage risk effectively. Your ability to adapt to new challenges and deliver results will make you an integral part of the team.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

• Developing risk appetite and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to enable the business to make timely risk based decisions to manage risk within appetite.
• Facilitating risk and control assessment and conducting risk reviews to enable risk analysis of emerging themes and control weaknesses that could impact on the delivery of BVNK’s strategy and objectives.
• Conducting control assurance activities to validate that controls are designed and operating effectively, working closely with other assurance functions.
• Overseeing incident reporting, ensuring that remediation is completed effectively and that controls are improved to prevent recurrence.
• Leading contingency planning practices for assigned business functions, ensuring compliance with DORA in the EU and Operational Resilience in the UK.
• Providing advice and guidance on risk and control matters, supporting business leaders to prioritise remediation and develop control frameworks. This will be key in reinforcing a strong risk culture.
• Providing support to change initiatives and product development, ensuring that risks are considered appropriately and that governance requirements are met.
• Managing the governance of Committees and Forums, ensuring that they meet their terms of reference and are effective in managing the associated risks.
• Working with the Company Secretary to enhance the governance of regulated entities, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met and that each entity operates effectively and efficiently. 
• Managing the policy governance framework, ensuring appropriate policies are in place and that policy controls are implemented and monitored.

What we need from you:

• Have experience in developing and embedding risk management frameworks;
• Have experience in developing and embedding governance frameworks;
• Have had exposure to different regulatory frameworks around the globe (desired, not essential);
• Have experience in the global payments and/or crypto market (desired, not essential)
• Are an excellent communicator, comfortable liaising with senior stakeholders;
• Are a self-starter and problem-solver, who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
• Are passionate about improving operational efficiency and finding smarter ways of working;
