About this role in the team:

The Senior Reconciliation Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, conducting reconciliation of accounts, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires advanced analytical skills, attention to detail, and communication with other departments and senior leadership. This position also involves mentoring junior analysts and collaborating across finance teams.

As a Senior Reconciliations Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our daily Operations. This role focuses on delivering accurate and efficient internal and external safeguarded and non-guarded reconciliations and reporting for the BVNK Group within a Fintech environment.

We’re looking for a team member who has a passion for automation and AI-driven efficiencies, alongside maintaining accuracy and identifying process improvements proactively. The ideal candidate will have an interest in AI and automation, with proven examples of leveraging technology to optimise reconciliation workflows.

This role will involve uncovering discrepancies, working collaboratively to meet deadlines, and assisting cross-functionally. You’ll also be required to support the wider team with client and bank-related queries while driving automation initiatives that enhance reconciliation processes.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies by closely monitoring procedures. Assist in internal and external audits, providing detailed documentation and clear explanations of methodologies.

 

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Reconciliation Activities

  • Perform reconciliations of accounts and financial transactions across various entities for both fiat and crypto 
  • Reconcile complex accounts, such as bank accounts, customer accounts, and intercompany transactions
  • Analyze and resolve reconciling items, working closely with internal stakeholders to correct discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of all reconciliation activities and ensure documentation is up to date
  • Create the daily reconciliation template for all entities
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies or inconsistencies in financial data, and investigate the root cause of issues
  • Leverage automation tools and AI-powered solutions to improve reconciliation accuracy and efficiency.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring reconciliations align with financial records
  • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and reports related to reconciliations
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes

Data Management & Monitoring

  • Import internal and external data
  • Record daily cash balances on input reports
  • Monitor the movement of funds between different bank accounts
  • Track and monitor outstanding issues or transactions that require resolution, ensuring they are resolved within appropriate timeframes

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Liaise with other departments (e.g., finance, accounting, operations) to ensure all necessary information is available for reconciliation
  • Work closely with the Treasury and Payment Operations teams to ensure accurate system and client data
  • Assist the Treasury team with NAV reporting data
  • Work closely with the Product & Tech Finance teams to ensure accurate and improved reports
  • Work alongside technology teams to integrate AI/automation tools into reconciliation processes.

Process Improvement & Implementation

  • Recommend process improvements for reconciliation activities to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Assist the Reconciliations manager with improved processes and reports, overseeing new product journeys, and assisting with the transition from manual to automated reconciliations
  • Implementation of new products and processes
  • Testing of new external providers from the test plans

Team Support & Oversight

  • Review data completed by junior analysts and assist with escalated queries and reconciliation items
  • Support the Reconciliations team in daily operations
  • Assist the rest of the business with ad hoc requests

 

What we need from you:

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Financial Management or Business Management related qualification
  • 2+ years of experience in reconciliations or financial services
  • Strong interest in AI and automation, with proven examples of process improvements using technology highly desirable
  • Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete reconciliations accurately and timeously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal skills, able to present findings and communicate workflows effectively
