About this role in the team:

As an OpsTech Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, automation, and scalability of our financial operations. You will work closely with the Payments, Treasury, Reconciliation, and Engineering teams to optimise transaction processing, troubleshoot operational issues, and enhance system performance.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Automation & Tooling: Build internal tools and scripts to automate operational workflows, reducing manual effort.

Incident Management: Investigate and resolve payment failures, STP inefficiencies, and other transaction-related issues.

Banking & Crypto Integration: Support the integration of banking partners, exchanges, and blockchain networks into operational processes.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Work with large transaction datasets to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for optimization.

Performance Optimization: Collaborate with engineering to enhance processing speed, ensuring transactions are completed in real-time or within SLAs.

Security & Reliability: Implement best practices for secure and scalable financial operations.

Payments & Transactions: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize crypto and fiat payment processing, ensuring seamless settlement and reconciliation.

What we need from you:

• Experience in building and maintaining APIs, services, webhooks, and financial data processing
• Expertise in Java and Spring Boot
• Expertise in micro-services architecture, with a strong focus on leveraging Kafka for event-driven systems
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud services.
• Proven experience in AI/ML development and automation, ideally within a Payments, FinTech, or Financial Services context.
• Strong background in AI, machine learning, and automation tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills in payments infrastructure, blockchain transactions, and bank integrations.
• Experience in fintech, payments, crypto, or banking infrastructure.

• Knowledge of SEPA, SWIFT, FPS, ACH, and crypto payment flows.
• Familiarity with compliance, AML monitoring, and transaction risk management is a plus.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, compliance, and business teams.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and a passion for operational efficiency.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Open to participate in out of hours on call rota
