QA Manual Manager (Mobile Testing)
BrainRocket is a global company creating end-to-end tech products for clients across Fintech, iGaming, and Marketing. βYoung, ambitious, and unstoppable, we've already taken Cyprus, Malta, Portugal, Poland, and Serbia by storm. Our BRO team consists of 1,300 bright minds creating innovative ideas and products. We donβt follow formats. We shape them. We build what works, launch it fast, and make sure it hits.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Mobile Testing QA Manager to take ownership of the overall quality of our mobile platform. In this role, you will act as a "Chapter Lead" within a matrix organization. You will be responsible for building robust mobile testing processes, while simultaneously managing, mentoring, and guiding a distributed team of mobile QA engineers embedded within various cross-functional product squads.
This is a hybrid role: you will be a strategic manager ensuring high-level quality metrics are met, and a technical QA Lead who can roll up their sleeves to review test architecture, unblock engineers, and drive best practices.
What You Will Do
Strategy & Process Engineering
- Build & Scale: Design, implement, and standardize mobile testing processes (both manual and automated) across all distributed product teams.
- Drive Overall Quality: Define, monitor, and improve key mobile quality metrics (e.g., Crash-free users, Defect Escape Rate, Time to Market, Test Coverage).
- Tooling & Infrastructure: Select and maintain the optimal tech stack for mobile testing, including automation frameworks, real-device farms, and cloud testing services (e.g., Firebase Test Lab, BrowserStack).
- CI/CD Integration: Partner closely with DevOps to ensure mobile automated tests are seamlessly integrated into the continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
Team & Chapter Management
- Matrix Leadership: Functionally manage a distributed team of mobile QA engineers working across independent product squads.
- Talent Growth: Lead hiring, onboarding, and continuous development of your team. Conduct regular 1-on-1s, build Personal Development Plans (PDPs), and conduct performance reviews.
- Community Building: Establish a "Mobile QA Guild" to foster knowledge sharing, align on standards, and prevent team silos.
Technical Leadership
- Artifact Review: Audit and review complex test plans, test cases, and testing strategies for large-scale, cross-team features.
- Unblocking & Mentorship: Assist engineers with complex technical challenges specific to mobile (e.g., traffic sniffing, mocking, deep links, push notifications, and mobile analytics).
- Release Train Coordination: Oversee regression testing processes and coordinate mobile release builds for the App Store and Google Play across multiple squads.
Stakeholder Management
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and advocate for mobile quality when collaborating with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and stakeholders.
- Shift-Left Culture: Champion quality at the earliest stages of development by participating in requirements grooming and Figma design reviews (focusing on testability and mobile UX).
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with at least 3 years dedicated heavily to mobile testing (iOS and Android).
- Leadership: 2+ years of experience mentoring or managing QA engineers, ideally in a matrix or distributed team environment (Spotify model - Tribes/Squads/Chapters).
- Technical Chops: Hands-on experience with mobile test automation tools (Appium, Maestro, Espresso, or XCUITest) and a strong understanding of automation architecture.
- Mobile Expertise: Deep understanding of mobile ecosystem specifics, including App Store / Google Play release guidelines, iOS Human Interface Guidelines, and Android Material Design.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience working with CI/CD tools, mobile device farms, and network debugging tools (Charles, Proxyman).
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive cultural change regarding quality.

- Experience building QA processes entirely from scratch in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of mobile performance and security testing.
