We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the development of our Payment Gateway product, overseeing a multidisciplinary team of full-stack engineers. This role is crucial for ensuring the delivery of a reliable, secure, and scalable payment infrastructure. You will be responsible not only for backend excellence but also for driving the entire engineering function—including front-end and integration layers—toward delivering high-value, high-quality releases on time.

✅ Main Responsibilities

✔️ Owns and drives the technical direction and execution for the Payment Gateway product, ensuring cohesive development across the full-stack (back-end, front-end, and integrations)

✔️ Leads and supports a cross-functional team of full-stack engineers, including backend specialists and frontend contributors

✔️ Manages team leads and senior engineers through regular feedback, 1:1s, performance reviews, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs)

✔️ Oversees team hiring and onboarding, coaching engineers to support career growth and technical excellence; makes hiring/firing decisions as needed

✔️ Facilitates and enforces agile practices across the engineering teams (Scrum, Kanban), ensuring productivity and process alignment

✔️ Guides product development strategically, without micromanaging code delivery; supports high-level architectural decisions and product direction

✔️ Proactively identifies technical debt and system bottlenecks, and leads efforts to improve architecture, system design, scalability, and maintainability

✔️ Balances workloads, manages resource allocation, and enables mobility across squads to maintain high engagement and optimal team performance

✔️ Champions the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to strengthen the performance, security, and flexibility of the payment gateway product

✔️ Establishes and evolves engineering standards, ensuring technical knowledge is well documented and shared across the team

✔️ Actively contributes to engineering-wide initiatives and improvements that extend beyond the scope of the Payment Gateway team

✅ Requirements

✔️ Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field

✔️ 8+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development; 3+ years in a people management or tech leadership role

✔️ Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering managers or team leads

✔️ Strong experience with Kubernetes, containerization, cloud infrastructure, microservice architecture, SQL and NoSQL databases

✔️ Deep understanding of data structures, design patterns, algorithms, and system design best practices

✔️ Proven experience working with RESTful APIs, message brokers, 3rd party integrations, CI/CD pipelines, secure and test-driven development

✔️ Familiarity with agile development processes and working closely with design and product teams

✔️ Strong leadership, team-building, feedback, and communication skills; able to motivate and guide engineers toward shared goals

✔️ English level: Upper-Intermediate or above

✔️ Previous experience in payment, fintech or similar domains is an advantage
