Health and Safety Assistant

The Health and Safety Assistant will support the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring a safe work environment across all company locations. This role involves assisting with compliance, risk management, inspections, training, and administrative duties to uphold health and safety standards and promote employee well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Health and Safety Manager.

  • Assist in developing and implementing safety programs and policies.

  • Maintain and update safety documentation and records.

  • Conduct safety inspections and hazard assessments of facilities and equipment.

  • Support in organizing and conducting safety training sessions for staff when required.

  • Investigate and report safety incidents and violations to the Health and Safety Manager.

  • Recommend and assist in implementing corrective actions to improve safety conditions.

  • Attend Company Health and Safety Committee meetings and compile meeting minutes as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, policies, and best practices.

  • Manage confidential information in accordance with GDPR and company policies.

  • Coordinate with the Health and Safety Manager to prioritize tasks and maintain smooth operations within the department.

  • Report and address any health, safety, security, and confidentiality concerns.

  • Assist in regular site visits to ensure consistent safety standards across multiple company locations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certification preferred).

  • Trained and certified as per legal requirements in Internal Services for Protection and Prevention.

  • Prior experience in a safety-related field is an advantage.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in maintaining safety documentation and compliance records.

  • Willingness to travel for site visits as required.
