What's the role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, data-driven, and proactive Media Finance Associate to join our finance team. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end process of supplier invoice processing and client recharging across Google Media Platform (GMP) and other pass-through media accounts. You will ensure accurate and timely accounts payable and receivable transactions, perform regular reconciliations, and support month-end reporting.
What you do
Operational Finance & Transaction Processing:
- Process c.450 supplier invoices monthly and payments related to Google Media Platform (GMP) and other pass-through media vendors.
- Manage client invoicing by recharging supplier costs with applicable markup, ensuring accuracy and timely collections (c.400 invoices per month).
- Support daily banking activities by assisting AR and AP leads in coding unclear banking transactions.
- Ensure the payment run file accurately reflects whether all supplier invoices have been recharged and collected.
- Assist with maintaining audit trails and documentation for media transactions.
Financial Reconciliation & Insight Analysis:
- Proactively communicate with suppliers and customers to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment queries.
- Collaborate closely with client teams to ensure spend and recharged amounts align. Seek review and approval from internal client teams for expenditure reports, recharge calculations, and any adjustments or discrepancies identified.
- Perform ongoing reconciliations (by client and platform) to verify all pass-through media spend is properly accounted for and recharged to clients.
- Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely balance reconciliations for month-end reporting related to media costs and revenue recognition.
- Assist in analysing media spend trends and discrepancies to support accurate cash flow forecasting.
Ad-hoc Reporting:
- Audit support
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities beyond reconciliations
- Ad-hoc reporting as requested
Who you are
- You'll have at least 3 years' experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, preferably in media or digital advertising finance.
- You'll have a strong expertise in customer and vendor reconciliations, with a detail oriented approach
- Self-starter, motivated to meet reporting deadlines with a positive solution focussed attitude.
- You'll be an excellent communicator, being comfortable liaising with both internal teams and external clients & vendors
- Willingness to support the group finance team as requested
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse financial information, identify trends, and support decision-making with accurate insights
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with large volumes of financial data
- Proven experience reconciling large, complex datasets across multiple sources or systems
- Confidence in identifying and investigating discrepancies, with a logical and methodical approach
- Comfortable working in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets), with strong proficiency in formulas and functions such as VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and Pivot Tables. Able to efficiently manipulate and reconcile large datasets, build structured reports, and troubleshoot formula errors to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
How you succeed
Your primary metric to success is the ability to produce timely and accurate invoicing and month-end reporting deliverables while ensuring the day to day banking activities and payable & receivable activities are complete.
