What’s the role?

Assistant Melting Operator | Bradken Chilca

You will provide direct support in the operation of melting furnaces and related equipment, following standards, procedures, and work instructions to ensure safety, quality, and operational continuity. You will assist with alloy preparation and charge calculations, charging the furnace with scrap and ferroalloys, and making composition adjustments based on spectrometer analysis. You will also support sampling, temperature measurement with a pyrometer, slag removal, ladle preparation and preheating, and the safe use of an overhead crane (remote control). In addition, you will help inspect and patch/replace refractories, complete production reports, and participate in continuous improvement.

Our ideal candidate meets the following criteria:

Certification as a melting furnace operator (foundry) or evidence of equivalent competence.
More than two years of relevant experience supporting/operating melting equipment.
Knowledge of spectrometry, composition adjustment, overhead crane (remote) operation, and safe lifting/rigging.
Knowledge of refractories (inspection, patching/replacement) and molten metal safety.
