Sourcing Quality Engineer

As a Sourcing Quality Engineer at Bradken, you will be part of our Global Product Sourcing team and act as a vital link between our suppliers and internal stakeholders including Category Managers, Sourcing Technical Engineers, Product Owners, and Project Managers. Your key focus will be on proactively managing and improving supplier quality, ensuring that all sourced products meet our stringent quality standards.

What you’ll be doing:

You are passionate about delivering quality at the source, ensuring product excellence from the first step. You bring expertise in supplier development, quality systems, and project support, and you’re driven by continuous improvement.

You are responsible for evaluating and developing new suppliers, facilitating PPAP and APQP processes during new projects, and supporting ongoing supplier performance through audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll play a key role in preventing quality issues before they reach production.

You are confident in leading supplier quality assessments, collaborating cross-functionally to align project deliverables, and using data and quality tools to make sound decisions. Your knowledge of ISO and IATF standards, coupled with a hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes, allows you to influence product quality and support operational success.

You bring:

  • A degree in Engineering or a technical field, with certifications in quality management or auditing (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 3834, AS/NZ1554 or AWS D1.1, ISO14731, AWS QC19, AS3842) worked in heavy engineering industries
  • 3–5 years of experience in supplier quality with welding and fabrication
  • A strong foundation in Welding, Fabrication, Quality plan, APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, and MSA
  • Experience working with suppliers in manufacturing industries such as Mining Bucket fabrication, automotive, aerospace, transport, or defence
  • A practical understanding of industrial or foundry processes is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa languages, Exposure in Teamcenter would be added advantage

You are familiar with tools like root cause analysis (5 Whys, Ishikawa, 8D), quality audits, and supplier scorecards, and are comfortable navigating systems and documents related to PPAP, concessions, deviation and process changes.

You’ll be part of a team that values structured planning, clear communication, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. You will support business growth by delivering supplier capability, ensuring quality compliance, and contributing to project success.
