
Mechanical Engineer

In this role, you’ll guide and support team members throughout the entire design and development process, including solid modelling, detailed drafting, simulation and analysis, reverse engineering, and 3D scanning, while also driving enhancements to existing products by applying your technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills.
You’ll manage projects end-to-end with hands-on involvement in solid modelling, drafting, analysis, reverse engineering, and 3D scanning—delivering quality outcomes with flexibility and ownership.
With your detail-oriented mindset and strong analytical skills, you’ll lead, review, and contribute to solid modelling, engineering calculations, and drafting, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet both internal standards and customer needs. Your strength in mentoring and team leadership will help foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
You’ll collaborate directly with customers, conduct inspections, support installations, and provide technical advice with a solution-focused approach. Strong communication skills will support your involvement in design reviews, stakeholder discussions, and project planning.
With a focus on design work, you’ll manage budgets and timelines, support CapEx planning, and use Wrike for tracking. You’ll also assist in failure investigations, design inspection tools, and contribute to compliance and environmental projects.
Key Technical criteria:
- Prior experience in Mechanical Engineering and Industry experience preferred.
- Experience working in a collaborative design and/or engineering environment
- Experience in Product Design, Product Development and Project Management
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Degree, Diploma, or Certificate) or equivalent industry experience
This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity based in Newcastle
