Job overview:

We’re looking for a curious, motivated and driven Financial Crime Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis. You don’t need prior experience in compliance, just a sharp eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in how financial crime gets detected and stopped.

You’ll report to our Head of Risk & Compliance and work from either our London or Leeds offices three days per week, with flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days, supported with the tools, training and guidance to succeed in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Due Diligence (CDD)

    Conduct onboarding checks for individual and legal entity customers. Tasks include:

    • Reviewing eKYC results
    • Reviewing identity verification (ID&V) documentation
    • Screening and reviewing PEP and sanctions alerts
    • Assessing and documenting customer risk profiles
  • Ongoing Monitoring

    Perform continuous monitoring of individual and legal entity customers. Tasks include:

    • Reviewing daily PEP screening alerts
    • Reviewing daily sanctions screening alerts
    • Reviewing daily adverse media screening alerts
  • Transaction Monitoring

    Support the detection of suspicious activity through transaction monitoring. Tasks include:

    • Analysing transactions flagged by internal monitoring systems
    • Identifying trends or red flags indicative of financial crime
    • Escalating concerns with clear supporting rationale
    • Contributing to the refinement of transaction monitoring rules to improve effectiveness
  • Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Reviews

    Conduct EDD for higher-risk customers and scenarios. Tasks include:

    • Gathering and verifying source of funds (SOF) and source of wealth (SOW)
    • Assessing the customer’s intended use of products or services
    • Performing enhanced adverse media checks
    • Escalating findings to the Head of Risk & Compliance, where appropriate

What You’ll Bring

  • Willingness to Learn: You may not have prior compliance experience, but you are curious, motivated, and eager to build a career in financial crime prevention.
  • Regulatory Awareness: An interest in learning about UK financial regulations, particularly around AML, CTF, and the role of the FCA.
  • Tech-Savvy: Confident using technology as part of daily work, with a willingness to learn tools like KYC and transaction monitoring systems.
  • Team Collaboration: Good communication skills and a willingness to support internal teams and customer operations with compliance-related queries.
  • Attention to Detail: A careful and thorough approach to tasks, especially when handling data or documentation.

Salary range

£32,000 - £36,000 GBP
