Hardware Engineer

The Hardware Engineer will participate in the concept and support in the system design of various Electrical Engineering solutions for automotive, aerospace and maritime applications. They will follow their work through development loops up to final system integration and validation, supervised by a Senior engineer with a high degree of freedom.
Responsibilities
- Co-development and design of Electrical Engineering concepts and systems for commercial and in-house projects.
- Participate in the development and design of electrical systems for both commercial and in-house projects.
- Ensure that developed systems comply with appropriate regulations and standards.
- Propose improvements in Hardware Engineering systems within BOLD.
- Contribute to the testing and validation planning and participate in the test execution of Electrical Engineering systems.
- Develop and review associated documentation, layouts, schematics, calculations, simulations, and test reports for Electrical Engineering solutions.
- Ensure collaboration between the HW engineering team and other teams for a certain program.
- Ensure effective collaboration between the hardware engineering team and other teams involved in the program.
- Facilitate communication and joint work to achieve the program's objectives.
Minimum qualifications, skills and experience
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in hardware design, development, and testing.
- Knowledge of EV vehicle architecture, high voltage, and vehicle requirements.
- Expertise in SCH and PCB layout design using Altium.
- Strong understanding of both analog and digital circuits.
- Mastery of hardware debugging and troubleshooting tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and signal integrity (SI).
- Proficiency in English.
Desirable skills and additional experience
- Experience with battery systems and electric vehicle developments.
- Proficiency in using soldering stations for PCB rework and prototype assembly.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and FPGA design.
- Ability to simulate PCBs with Altium and Ansys/Altair.
- Experience in embedded hardware development (knowledge of SPICE® is a plus).
- Experience designing communication buses (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, ISO-SPI) and wireless technologies (Bluetooth, NFC).
- Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, DO-254).
