Battery Design Trainee

The Design Trainee will be responsible for supporting the mechanical design and development of BOLD's battery systems using state-of-the-art CAD tools and applying high-quality engineering principles.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of battery solutions based on technical specifications to meet performance targets, including mass, safety, certification, and structural integrity.
- Help prepare initial specifications and statements of work, including detailed drawings and specification tables.
- Collaborate in the design and development of mechanical assemblies and structures using 3D Experience – Catia v6, ensuring they meet high-performance and industry standards.
- Work closely with electrical, structural, and thermal simulation teams to incorporate their recommendations into the design.
- Apply basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes in high-performance environments such as the aerospace and motorsport industries.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure the design process aligns with project timelines and cost expectations.
- Assist in the production and review of detailed drawings for components, tooling, jigs, and fixtures using 3D Experience – CATIA v6.
- Develop and apply design specifications, ensuring that clearance and safety parameter requirements are fully integrated into our designs.
Minimum qualifications, skills and experience
- Currently studying a degree in Mechanical Design, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
- Knowledge of CAD tools such as 3D Experience – Catia v6 or equivalent CAD or PLM tools.
- Understanding of electrical, high voltage, and/or battery design requirements.
- Communication skills and a proactive attitude in a high-pressure environment to ensure the job gets done as requested.
- Ability to work according to a project plan and manage technical requirements versus workload according to a schedule, maintaining active communication in an agile environment.
- Basic knowledge of cloud-based collaborative platforms such as MS Office suite and cloud project management tools.
- Intermediate/advanced English.
