About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer I (Backend) who can take a leading role in architecting, developing, and optimizing scalable, multitenant backend systems. This role will be critical in driving major new releases in 2026 and beyond.

You will act as a key technical expert for backend initiatives, owning everything from day-to-day operations and system reliability to designing and delivering large-scale, reusable features.

What you will do:

• Architect for multi tenancy and reusability:
  Design and implement secure, efficient multi tenant architectures that support multiple clients, regions, or business units, while promoting modular, reusable components to speed up development and reduce duplication.

• Co-lead backend development:
  Serve as a core technical leader for backend systems in this Telco application, quickly ramping up on the existing architecture and contributing to scalable design decisions and execution.

• Operate and improve production systems:
  Troubleshoot across application, infrastructure, and database layers, while improving system reliability, performance, and observability (e.g., Dynatrace or similar tools).

• Deliver major features:
  Lead backend implementation of large, business-critical features, balancing fast delivery with long-term maintainability and architectural soundness.

• Work with infrastructure and data:
  Manage Kubernetes-based deployments, ensure strict tenant-level data isolation and security, and maintain/optimize databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS SQL.

• Raise the engineering bar:
  Drive improvements in code quality, CI/CD practices, monitoring, and documentation to enhance overall engineering standards.

• Collaborate with stakeholders:
  Partner closely with product, frontend teams, and other backend engineers to translate business requirements into scalable, reusable technical solutions.

What you will need:

• Experience: 5+ years in backend engineering.

• Architecture & Design: Hands-on experience with multitenant systems, SaaS platforms, and reusable shared services.

• Core stack: Strong experience in Java or a similar language.

• Databases: Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL, including data partitioning and tenant isolation concepts.

• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.

• Strong background in maintaining and evolving production systems.

• Solid debugging and query optimization skills.

• Production & troubleshooting:
  Experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace) and resolving complex production issues.

• System ownership mindset:
  Comfortable acting as a key technical owner, collaborating on architecture, and driving initiatives end-to-end while continuously improving systems.

Nice to have:

• Experience in Telco, high-availability, or high-throughput environments.

• Strong understanding of API-first design and microservices architecture.

• Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise environments.
