About the Role 

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineering Manager (Networking) to lead our on-premise data center infrastructure initiatives. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in IP network setup, data center hardware (load balancers, routers, switches, firewalls), and modern practices like Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Ansible. 

You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient network infrastructure to support mission-critical workloads in an on-premise environment. You’ll also play a pivotal role in mentoring a team of network and infrastructure engineers while collaborating cross-functionally with security, cloud, and platform teams. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and manage the infrastructure engineering team responsible for on-premise data center operations and network engineering. 

• Design, implement, and maintain IP-based network infrastructure across data centers, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. 

• Oversee the configuration and lifecycle management of all networking hardware. 

• Drive automation and consistency through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and other modern deployment frameworks. 

• Define and enforce best practices for network security, high availability, monitoring, and performance tuning. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure strategy with product and business goals. 

• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related outages. 

• Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, configuration standards, and operational procedures. 

• Plan and forecast network capacity and infrastructure needs as the business scales. 

Requirements 

Must-Have Skills & Experience 

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure or network engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role. 

• Strong expertise in on-premise data center network design and hardware setup, including: 

• Routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers 

• Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.), VLANs, VPNs, and NAT 

• Proven experience deploying and managing infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent IaC tools. 

• Solid understanding of network security principles, firewall policies, and access control models. 

• Experience with network monitoring and performance tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Wireshark). 

• Familiarity with server hardware and rack-level planning in enterprise data centers. 

• Strong documentation and communication skills. 

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, Juniper JNCIP, or similar. 

• Experience in hybrid environments involving both on-premise and cloud. 

• Exposure to container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) and how they interact with networking layers. 

• Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements for on-premise infrastructure (e.g., ISO, SOC 2, etc.).
