About the Role
As a Technology Operation Engineer – IN and VAS, you will play a key role in the daily operation, configuration, and support of our Intelligent Network (IN) and Value-Added Services (VAS) platforms. These systems are critical to how our customers experience mobile services—enabling voice, SMS, balance management, and advanced service packages.
You will work with engineers and developers to support service configuration, troubleshoot operational issues, and maintain integration between our IN/VAS stack, host MNO networks, and internal BSS/OSS systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role—ideal for someone who thrives in complex telecom environments, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to grow their telecom domain expertise.
What You Will Do
System Support & Configuration
- Assist in the daily operation of IN/VAS platforms including OCS, SCP, SMSC, USSD GW, and IVR.
- Implement service configurations like package creation, tariff changes, and feature activations based on predefined specifications.
- Support deployment of new services and service logic under guidance from the manager and senior engineers.
- Handle task like SIM production life cycle management, numbering plan management, Voucher\scratch card production and lifecycle management, fraud and revenue assurance support (SIM boxing, SMS fraud, Wangiri...etc)
Monitoring & Issue Resolution
- Monitor IN/VAS systems and alarms to identify anomalies or service degradation.
- Investigate and troubleshoot service issues, escalating complex incidents to senior engineers or vendors when required.
- Perform routine health checks and assist in planned maintenance tasks.
Integration & Testing
- Support integration testing for new service features between IN systems and external systems (MNO, BSS, applications).
- Work with different engineering teams to validate end-to-end functionality and ensure proper provisioning, charging, and delivery flows.
Documentation & Learning
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, changes, known issues, and troubleshooting steps.
- Stay up-to-date with telecom technologies, protocols (e.g., MAP, CAP, Diameter), and Beyond ONE systems through continuous learning and team collaboration.
What You Will Need
Technical Skills
- 2–4 years of experience in telecom operations or technical support, preferably with IN/VAS platforms.
- Familiarity with real-time charging systems (OCS), SCP, USSD, SMSC, IVR, and related protocols (MAP, CAP, SIP, Diameter).
- Basic understanding of telecom system architecture and integrations with BSS and MNOs.
- Exposure to monitoring tools and alarm systems is desirable.
Soft Skills
- Curious mindset and eagerness to learn from experienced engineers.
- Structured approach to problem-solving and documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, especially in multi-vendor and multi-country environments.
- Ability to follow operational procedures and contribute to service stability.
Languages
- Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience in MVNO or operator environments in Latin America is a bonus.
