About the role:
We are seeking a Legal Manager in Mexico to oversee the legal function across Latam (currently Mexico, Chile and Colombia) running the day-to-day legal operations of LATAM including contract negotiation, litigation and advising the business on all aspects of the legal landscape in Latam.
What you will do:
- Advising the business across LATAM on all legal aspects of the business.
- Drafting and negotiating contracts with third parties.
- Interpreting contracts and advising the business on signed contracts.
- Develop legal templates for use across the business.
- Advise the business on dispute matters.
- Assist the Global General Counsel on Latam M&A matters.
- Work with and assist the compliance department on regulatory matters and regulators.
- Work with the HR team on legal aspects of employment matters.
What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in English.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in a legal role with at least 5 years of experience working in an in-house role and ideally in the telecommunications sector.
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution, considering multiple options before administrative actions.
- Expertise in contract drafting and negotiation and interpretation of contracts.
- Ability to work independently and work outside of comfort zone advising on multiple jurisdictions including ones where you are not qualified.
