The Senior iOS Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our mobile presence, ensuring it resonates with the dynamic needs of all Beauty Pie members. This role involves designing and building a high-performing, user-centric iOS application from the ground up, focusing on delivering a seamless and engaging shopping experience. The role will leverage cutting-edge technologies like Swift, API integrations, and AWS, along with modern e-commerce platforms such as CommerceTools, to create intuitive and innovative features that enhance user interaction and drive customer loyalty. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, the engineer will ensure that our mobile offerings not only meet current market demands but also anticipate future trends, positioning our company as a leader in the digital beauty space. So, what will you be doing?

  • Architectural Design and Development: Lead the design and development of the iOS application using Swift, focusing on crafting a robust and scalable application architecture. Ensure the application aligns with the overall business goals and integrates smoothly with existing systems.
  • API Integration and Management: Handle integration of various APIs to connect the iOS application with backend services hosted on AWS, ensuring efficient data exchange and functionality that supports e-commerce operations.
  • eCommerce Implementation: Collaborate with the e-commerce teams to implement core shopping features using a combination of internal microservices and CommerceTools, optimizing the app for member engagement and seamless shopping experiences.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to define feature requirements, set timelines, and lead portions of the project, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision of the mobile platform.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Conduct rigorous testing routines to ensure the application's performance, usability, and security meet the high standards expected for a commercial product. Address any issues or bugs swiftly to maintain software quality.
  • Continuous Learning and Mentoring: Stay updated with the latest developments in iOS development, Swift, and related technologies. Actively contribute to the growth mindset of the team by mentoring junior developers and sharing knowledge on best practices in mobile development.

You will also be a key contributor to: 

  • Technology Strategy Formulation: Participate in planning and strategy sessions to shape the technology roadmap and provide insights on mobile technology trends that can boost the company's competitiveness and user engagement.
  • Cross-Platform Integration Projects: Serve as a technical liaison for projects integrating the mobile platform with other digital services, ensuring alignment with web platforms for a seamless user experience.
  • Tech Culture Development: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging practices such as code reviews, pair programming, and tech talks to enhance skills and collaboration within the tech organization.
  • Leadership in Agile Practices: Provide guidance and leadership in adopting and refining agile methodologies within the development teams. Help teams increase efficiency, manage workloads effectively, and improve delivery timelines through agile best practices.
  • Diversity and Inclusion Efforts: Actively participate in initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion within the tech department. Help in mentoring underrepresented groups within the technology field to build a more diverse and inclusive team.
