Our Group Financial Control team are looking for an experienced Technical Accountant to join the team. 

 As a Commercial Analyst at Baringa, you will be an enthusiastic and approachable finance professional, keen to develop your career in commercial finance. This analyst role will focus on supporting cross-sector analysis and developing key insights to enable Finance Business Partners (FBPs) and the FP&A team to drive commercial value and inform strategic decisions.

This role is ideal for a motivated individual, looking to develop their financial knowledge and commercial acumen.

What you will be doing

  • Assist in the implementation of new finance system D365 from a commercial standpoint.
  • Support cross-sector analytical initiatives, providing key insights that the commercial finance team can use to drive strategic decision-making at both sector level, and firm wide level.
  • Support building and maintaining of dynamic financial models to support and improve the planning and forecasting process
  • Preparing and maintaining various standard and non-standard reports in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with finance business partners to deliver concise data that supports decision making at sector and firm wide levels
  • Conduct thorough client reviews with particular emphasis on margin and bill rate analysis, aiming to optimise commercial outcomes and profitability.
  • Contribute to organisational re-design projects, proactively engaging with Finance Systems and the SBM role to add value where appropriate.
  • Support scenario and sensitivity analysis to inform strategic planning and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with cross-business entity functions to develop and implement commercial models that add measurable value to the organisation.

Your skills and experience

  • Almost qualified or a desire to qualify as an accountant.
  • Able to analyse and reconcile financial transactions, identify potential issues, and determine solutions.
  • Strong Excel skills, with PBI experience desirable but not essential
  • Detail-oriented, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in a Partnership is desirable but not essential.
  • Resilient and committed individual, able to operate in a fast paced and challenging environment.
