We are looking for Consultants and Senior Consultants to join our thriving and award winning retail energy practice.
Our Energy practice is a dynamic, award-winning team of experts dedicated to tackling the Utilities sector's most pressing and public facing challenges, including driving the transition to Net Zero.
Our clients across the sector rely on our deep industry experience, knowledge and insight coupled with a hands-on, pragmatic delivery approach to solve their challenges. We are excited to be in a position to grow our Retail Energy team, supporting clients with market reform, customer operations, and net zero strategies in both domestic , SME and B2B.
What you will be doing:
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of this sector alongside our existing team of market specialists where you will be able to broaden your skillset and expertise within retail energy. You will also have the opportunity to work with a range of clients across the sector, including energy and water retailers and network operators to government bodies and regulators.
We’re looking for talented, enthusiastic experts with experience working in the utilities sector . You may have experience working within industry, consulting, or both, but most importantly have a passion for delivering change and transformation within energy retail.
- You will be a trusted advisor for our clients helping them identify, assess, design and implement solutions to their most complex business challenges.
- You will be a key part of our project teams responsible for scoping and delivering complex multi-faceted change programmes under challenging market conditions.
- You will work frequently in industry within high visibility areas, seamlessly working in blended project teams of Baringa and client personnel.
- You will be willing to work across the different clients in the sector.
Your skills and experience:

- You will have a minimum of 3 years working within a utilities retailer, including project management and delivery experience.
- You will have the ability to develop and maintain deep, trusted relationships with clients and colleagues across the sector.
- You will have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-specialists.
We are particularly looking for people with experience or specialism in the following key area across the retail sector:
- Customer Affordability: We are passionate about building a market that works for customers. We need commercially-minded people that understand how complex processes work across customer metering, billing and debt management from a systems, process and regulatory perspective to enable improvements for our clients and their customers especially those in Vulnerability.
- Field Services: We are helping our clients build workforces of the future that serve both the customer and network operators needs as efficiently and effectively as possible. Whether that be from installing a meter in a customer's home or maintenance and repairing of network assets. We are looking for people that have experience in field service transformation to enable performance improvement and Net zero delivery across energy and water industries.
- Data/Digital: We are excited to be at the forefront of emerging technologies that support our clients to deliver the right solutions into their business to drive both efficiency and performance. We are looking for individuals who have experience in delivering digital & data platforms & solutions including AI in utilities.
