About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Perceived Quality (PQ) Manager to join our design operations team. This role is responsible for defining and ensuring the highest level of perceived quality across interior and exterior vehicle design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive design, materials, and manufacturing processes, with a keen eye for detail and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement perceived quality strategies to enhance the high-end brand perception
• Collaborate with design teams to integrate PQ standards from concept to production.
• Establish and refine perceived quality guidelines, covering fit & finish, materials, surface quality, sound, and tactile experience.
• Conduct benchmarking studies against competitors to identify industry best practices.
• Perform visual, haptic, and functional quality assessments to ensure design intent is met.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing feedback from customers and quality audits.
• Communicate PQ insights effectively across different departments
• Lead and develop the perceived quality team, ensure the team delivers high-quality outputs within project timelines.
• Present PQ assessments, progress updates and strategic recommendations to CDO.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial design, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in perceived quality, design quality, or product validation within the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, lighting, ergonomics, and tactile perception in automotive design.
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), fit & finish evaluation, and surface quality assessment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and their impact on perceived quality.
• Proficiency in CAD tools and visualization software is a plus.
• Team management experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication & presenting skills
• Resilient under pressure, able to handle multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment
• Travel in different countries is required
