About the role
We’re looking for a Marketing Events Manager to join our Customer Marketing team at Autotrader.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering our customer-facing events strategy, evolving our current approach to include a broader mix of in-person and digital experiences. You’ll ensure our events engage the right audiences across the automotive industry, reflect our commercial priorities, and help articulate the value Autotrader brings to its partners.
You’ll lead the end-to-end process, from setting a clear purpose and identifying target audiences, to shaping content, managing logistics, and delivering engaging communications before, during and after each event. You’ll work closely with the Customer Marketing and PR teams to align our event activity with wider brand and commercial strategies, and with other event stakeholders across the business to ensure we deliver relevant, impactful events that support our shared goals.
Working with our Insights and Research teams, you’ll help develop ambitious, engaging content tailored to each audience, and will shape cross-channel digital content to complement our in-person experiences and broaden their reach. You’ll also partner with our creative team to ensure all event materials and presentations are on-brand and compelling.
You’ll manage pre-event communications, on-the-day engagement, and post-event follow-ups, working with the Customer Marketing team to amplify reach across relevant marketing channels. You’ll also support the Partnerships team in coordinating Autotrader’s presence at industry events, ensuring our people are well-briefed and set up for success.
In addition, you’ll work closely with the PR team to identify external events where Autotrader should have a presence, whether through speaking opportunities, partnerships or sponsorships.
This role is based in Manchester, with regular travel to London (and sometimes other locations) required to support events and collaborate with teams based there.

- Strong organisational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail, able to coordinate stakeholders and multiple activities simultaneously
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including marketing, PR, partnerships, creative, data, product, and customer-facing teams
- Ability to shape and deliver event-related content and messaging, including presentations, customer communications, and multi-channel campaigns (email, social, PR)
- Skilled in translating event content into engaging collateral across different formats
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and persuasively
- Creative problem-solver with a proactive approach and the ability to work independently
Desirable
- Experience designing inclusive events that cater to a range of audiences
- Familiarity with CRM, CMS, and social media platforms for event promotion and tracking
- Experience of working in the automotive industry
