General Description and Duties
- You will execute the process startup of ASM semiconductor processing equipment in specific CVD, Epitaxial and ALD equipment at customer locations.
- You will be responsible for implementing and qualifying ASM standard and non-standard processes during start-up of systems and document and present the results to both the customer and ASM teams.
- Work together with the wider ASM development team to develop and optimize processes focused on CVD, Epitaxial and ALD processes.
- Solve process-related problems with the ASM standard processes and report findings to both the customer and ASM.
- Support in development of new processes at customer site and in our lab.
- Participate in process experiments and tests at customer site or in our lab. Collect, characterize, analyze and report on process performance data.
- Maintain constant contact with both the customer and ASM colleagues directly involved with the project.
Education & Experience
- PhD degree in physics, chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science, preferably with a thesis related to the semiconductor or adjacent industries.
- The following experience and/or knowledge is an advantage
- Experience with CVD, epitaxial and ALD deposition techniques
- Experience with processing, developing and characterizing advanced Semiconductor processes
- Understanding the physics of semiconductor devices.
- Experience with materials characterization techniques such as XPS, SIMS, RBS, AFM, XRR, XRD, TEM, SEM, and ellipsometry.
- Knowledge of electrical semiconductor device characterization techniques for CMOS devices.
Skills
- Able to understand processing equipment technology using semiconductor wafers, advanced chemistries and the physics of semiconductor devices and materials.
- Able to independently manage process development projects.
- Understand the interplay between hardware design and process outputs.
- Quick learner with a hands-on approach and flexible attitude
- Enjoys solving problems and drives results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in German and in English
