The role

As a Senior MSK Physiotherapist, you will assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting with a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions, using your experience and clinical reasoning to manage cases safely and effectively.

You will take ownership of your caseload from initial assessment through to rehabilitation and discharge, adapting your approach to the individual needs, goals and circumstances of each patient.

You will have the autonomy expected of an experienced clinician while remaining connected to a wider clinical community, with support from your Area Manager, Physiotherapy Development Lead and Clinical Mentor when required.

Our digital systems and dedicated customer support teams also help manage patient queries and administration, allowing you to focus more of your time on clinical care.

What your working week will look like

You will spend the majority of your working week managing a varied MSK caseload in clinic, including patients accessing services through different referral and funding pathways.

Your appointments will include initial assessments, follow-up consultations and progressive rehabilitation, alongside clinical documentation and ongoing professional development.

As a Senior MSK Physiotherapist, you will be trusted to manage your caseload with a high degree of autonomy, making appropriate clinical decisions, recognising risk and knowing when onward referral or additional input is required.

Depending on the opportunity available, we may also be able to explore full-time, part-time, flexible or condensed working patterns.

What you will be doing

• Independently assessing and treating patients with a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions

• Applying strong clinical reasoning to varied and more complex presentations

• Developing individual, evidence-informed treatment and rehabilitation plans

• Communicating clinical findings clearly and involving patients in decisions about their care

• Recognising red flags, clinical risk and presentations requiring escalation or onward referral

• Supporting patients through progressive rehabilitation towards meaningful functional goals

• Maintaining clear, accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Managing your caseload effectively while delivering a consistently positive patient experience

• Working collaboratively with clinical and operational colleagues across Ascenti

• Continuing to develop your clinical expertise through learning, reflection and feedback

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist with a strong background in musculoskeletal practice and the confidence to work autonomously in clinic.

You will need:

• A recognised qualification in Physiotherapy

• Current HCPC registration

• Three or more years of post-qualification clinical experience

• Strong MSK assessment, clinical reasoning and rehabilitation skills

• A sound understanding of clinical safety, red flags and appropriate onward referral

• The ability to communicate complex clinical information clearly and build confidence with patients

• A strong understanding of consent, dignity and shared decision-making

• The confidence to work independently while recognising your professional limitations

• A commitment to evidence-informed practice, reflection and continued professional development
