Senior Safety Analysis Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Safety Analysis Engineer (m/f/d) to lead and drive safety analysis activities across our advanced systems. In this role, you will be responsible for performing and guiding structured safety analyses such as FTA and FMEA, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of functional safety and reliability.

You will work closely with systems, hardware, and software teams to identify potential risks early, define mitigation strategies, and support safety concept development throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Lead and perform safety analyses including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA/FMECA), and related methods
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve safety analysis artifacts across system, hardware, and software levels
  • Identify potential failure modes, hazards, and single points of failure, and define effective mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with system architects and engineering teams to integrate safety requirements into system design
  • Support development of functional safety concepts in alignment with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508)
  • Ensure traceability between hazards, safety requirements, and verification activities
  • Participate in safety reviews, audits, and assessments (internal and external)
  • Support verification and validation teams in confirming implementation of safety mechanisms
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of safety processes, methods, and tools.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in systems engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • 8–10+ years of experience in safety engineering, system engineering, or reliability engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with FTA, FMEA, and FMEDA methodologies
  • Solid understanding of functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508)
  • Experience with safety lifecycle processes and hazard analysis techniques (e.g., HARA, FHA)
  • Strong knowledge of system architecture and ability to analyze complex system interactions
  • Experience working with safety analysis tools (e.g., Medini Analyze, ReliaSoft, APIS IQ)
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
