Accounting Lead (m,f,d)

As Accounting Lead, you will take ownership of the company’s accounting function and ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal processes, and effective collaboration with external partners including tax advisors and auditors.

This role requires someone who is operationally strong and willing to be hands-on, while also building scalable accounting structures for a rapidly growing international company.

 

Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Own and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
• Ensure accurate financial reporting under German GAAP (HGB)
• Maintain and optimize accounting processes and internal controls
• Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and completion
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets

Systems & Process Ownership

• Manage and optimize financial processes within SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud
• Improve accounting workflows and drive automation as the company scales
• Establish robust documentation and accounting policies
• Ensure compliance with financial governance and regulatory requirements

External Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate closely with external tax advisors
• Lead and coordinate external audits
• Act as the key contact for accounting-related external stakeholders

Projects

• Lead accounting-related finance transformation and system projects
• Contribute to improving accounting infrastructure and scalability

 

Your Profile

• Previous experience as Accounting Lead, Senior Accountant, or in a similar senior accounting role
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), IFRS is a strong plus
• Experience working in international environments
• Experience collaborating with tax advisors and external auditors
• Proven experience taking ownership of accounting processes (team leadership is a plus)
• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud
• Comfortable working with modern finance systems and digital processes
• Hands-on mentality with strong ownership
• Fluent German and English (both required)
