Sr. Manager DC Ops International (f/m/d)
IONOS operates a global network of data centers powering over 100,000 bare-metal devices to support our robust cloud infrastructure. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Senior Manager to lead critical infrastructure operations across Spain (Logroño), the UK, and the USA (Lenexa).
Your Mission:
As a Senior Manager, you will take direct leadership over three regional teams of 6 people, managing the physical operations of our data center infrastructure. This is an opportunity for someone with a strong industrial or facilities maintenance background—used to working with high-power systems, cooling machines, and critical safety infrastructure—who is ready to apply their expertise to a cutting-edge international IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership of three distributed teams (Spain, UK, USA) – 6 people in total.

Full operational oversight of data center facilities: electrical, cooling, fire protection, and safety systems

24/7 lifecycle management of physical infrastructure

Incident, problem, and change management across regions

Lead and participate in global audit preparations (e.g. ISO 27001, ISO 50001, ISO 14001, PCI-DSS)

Performance tracking via KPIs, reporting in Jira and Confluence

Staff development: career pathing, vacation planning, coverage strategy

Vendor negotiation and cost control for outsourced services

Participate in rolling on-call duty (4-week rotation in Spain)

Ensure compliance with internal regulations and external standards
Your Profile
-
Degree in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or related technical field

Proven industrial maintenance background (facilities, transformers, UPS, HVAC, etc.)

Solid experience managing operational teams and infrastructure (ideally >1MW)

Experience as a line manager or direct manager for at least 2–3 years

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; people-first mindset

Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills

Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken & written)

Open to frequent international travel and operating in a multicultural environment (50% of the time could be travelling in the UK, US and Germany for a week trip, but you could decide when).
