Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on AWS to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to collaborate with internal software engineers, system operators, and other IT staff members to manage and optimize code releases within a suite of cloud-based software applications. You will be instrumental in bridging the gaps between development, testing, and operations teams, aiding in the integration of new systems, managing AWS-based infrastructure, and overseeing the deployment and maintenance of applications on AWS.

 

As a DevOps Engineer, you must be adaptable to the fast-paced nature of the tech industry, where changes in requirements, goals, strategies, and emerging AWS technologies are common. The role requires you to interact, develop, engineer, and communicate effectively at technical levels with clients, vendors, partners, and all stakeholders. Your key objective will be to automate and streamline our clients’ software application suite on AWS, including the specification and documentation of new features and the ongoing maintenance of critical business applications.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge combined with excellent interpersonal skills. A strong understanding of AWS services, cloud-based applications, and the ability to diagnose and resolve application issues in an AWS environment are essential.

Technical Skills

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps role
• Strong experience with AWS services (ECS, EC2, Lambda, S3)
• Experience working with databases (RDS, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis)
• Strong experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions)
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (New Relic, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash)
• Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards
• Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies
• Familiarity with security and vulnerability management tools (Snyk, Qualys, CrowdStrike)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement infrastructure solutions on AWS using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform/CloudFormation
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments
• Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for infrastructure
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security across environments
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize build and release processes
• Contribute to infrastructure modernization and continuous improvement initiatives
