We’re hiring a freelance Data Analyst for a remote, part-time engagement (~4 hours/day) over the next 3–4 weeks. You will contribute to two exciting AI/ML projects in the document processing and manufacturing domains, working closely with AI Engineers and directly impacting model development and business outcomes.
Project Overview
Project 1: Document Parsing via OCR and Image Recognition
Developing a system to automate data extraction from documents using OCR and image recognition technologies.
Your Responsibilities:

Assess initial datasets provided by the client (quality, completeness, and coverage).

Identify and document standard flows and edge cases.
-
Collaborate with AI Engineers to define training and validation datasets.
-
Validate model results and identify data-related issues.
Project 2: Demand Forecasting for Manufacturing Output
Building a predictive model for production planning based on internal and external data.
Your Responsibilities:

Review historical and external data sources.

Validate the sufficiency and usability of data for model training.

Support model development by providing insights and verifying analytical assumptions.
General Responsibilities

Analyze structured and unstructured datasets for quality, structure, and business relevance.

Prepare datasets, including edge cases and synthetic data, for AI model training.

Define annotation strategies, success metrics, and support schema design.
-
Investigate anomalies in data and model results.
-
Identify trends and patterns to support AI/ML hypotheses.

Work closely with client domain experts to correctly interpret and contextualize data.

Document datasets, findings, and decisions in a clear and accessible format.
Requirements

2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst (preferably in IT or consulting).

Proficiency in SQL and Google Sheets/Excel.

Experience handling large datasets (CSV, JSON, or databases).

Familiarity with annotation and preprocessing for ML projects.

Understanding of AI/ML basics (e.g., supervised learning, edge cases, labeling).
