👐 About the team
Compliance & Internal Control sits at the heart of Alma's ability to operate as a trusted, regulated payment institution across Europe. The function spans three pillars — Financial Security, Regulatory Compliance, and Internal Control — and plays a critical role in shaping how Alma manages risk, meets its obligations, and builds a culture of compliance across the company.
You'll report to the General Secretary and work closely with Operations, Risk, and Finance teams. This is a senior leadership role with real scope: you'll manage a team of specialists and define Alma's standards and positioning on compliance at the highest level.
This position is a CDI based in Paris.

Set the direction on compliance & control
- Define Alma's top management position on high-stakes compliance and internal control projects impacting the whole company
- Set standards for project quality and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives
- Drive a culture of compliance by modelling and advocating compliant practices across the company
- Build consensus across the organization, fostering a shared sense of responsibility for compliance
- Represent Alma as the key point of contact with regulators and authorities
Lead the Financial Security team
- Supervise the AML-CFT framework: definition, update, and accuracy of consumer and merchant risk classification
- Oversee KYB/KYC process design and implementation with Risk & Ops stakeholders
- Manage escalations, STR reporting to authorities, and AML-CFT communications to the ACPR
- Define the annual AML/CFT training and awareness program for all employees
- Serve as liaison with local regulatory authorities
Own the Regulatory Compliance framework
- Define Alma's regulatory framework and policies across all geographies
- Ensure continuous regulatory watch, with a specific focus on AML-CFT regulations in Europe
- Supervise IOBSP and ESP processes at Alma
- Oversee the implementation of Alma's ethics program, including anti-corruption policies and processes
Drive Internal Control & Risk Management
- Lead the elaboration and update of Alma's risk mapping: identify, evaluate, and propose controls to mitigate risks
- Supervise the execution of second-level controls as part of Alma's permanent control plan
- Manage the operational risk management framework and incident management processes
- Support periodic control missions and follow up on findings and recommendations
- Raise awareness on risk prevention culture through dedicated trainings and action plans
🧩 About you
To succeed in this job
- 10+ years of professional experience in a similar position in Audit, Internal Control, or Compliance, within a banking environment or a fintech
- Deep understanding of AML-CFT regulatory frameworks and the financing challenges of a payment institution and/or financing company
- Proven experience managing teams and leading cross-functional compliance or control projects
- Experience in an international and multicultural context — you are fluent in English; French, Italian, and/or German are a plus
- Strong analytical and risk-oriented mindset: you can deconstruct complex problems and propose pragmatic solutions
