About this role

This is a unique opportunity to rebuild Aidoc's QA strategy from the ground up for our regulated products. You will own the entire testing lifecycle — from defining the strategy, designing the test architecture, and building the test environments, to writing automation and executing releases.

This is not a maintenance role. We are looking for someone who can rethink how we test, define a modern QA vision, and execute it hands-on. You will work closely with R&D teams, and the Regulatory & Compliance function to ensure our products meet both engineering excellence and medical device regulatory standards.

If you enjoy building things from scratch, owning quality end-to-end, and operating in a high-impact role with full ownership — this is for you.

Responsibilities

QA Strategy & Test Architecture (Build from Scratch)

  • Rebuild and own the QA strategy for Aidoc's regulated products end-to-end.
  • Design and define the testing approach, methodology, and best practices across unit, integration, automation, and manual layers.
  • Establish quality gates, release criteria, and acceptance standards.

Test Environments & Infrastructure

  • Define and build new test environments — including staging, sandboxes, and test data sets.
  • Select, integrate, and improve testing tools and frameworks (pytest, Playwright, and others as needed).
  • Drive CI/CD integration of testing across the development pipeline.

Feature Testing & Planning

  • Partner with developers and  Regulatory & Compliance function on new features starting from the design phase.
  • Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria together with R&D, Product and RA.
  • Author Test Strategy Documents aligned with both engineering and regulatory needs.
  • Execute manual and automated tests before each production release.

Test Automation

  • Build automated tests using existing infrastructure and extend it where needed.
  • Gradually increase automation coverage across all features.
  • Maintain, refactor, and continuously improve existing automated tests.

Release & Regulatory Quality

  • Define test plans (STDs) for each release and coordinate V&V activities before formal releases.
  • Lead configuration, change, and release management in accordance with company and regulatory needs.
  • Support and prepare the company for internal and external audits (ISO 13485, FDA, MDSAP).

Full Ownership of the Testing Lifecycle

While this role is currently an individual contributor with no direct reports, you will have full end-to-end ownership of the testing lifecycle for Aidoc's regulated products — from strategy to execution to release sign-off.

Requirements

Must-Have

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as a QA Engineer / SDET / Software Quality Engineer.
  • Experience building test automation frameworks, not just writing tests within existing ones.
  • Proven hands-on coding skills in Python.
  • Experience with pytest, Playwright, or equivalent modern testing frameworks.
  • Experience working with AWS and Kubernetes-based environments.
  • Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven ability to define test strategy and methodology from scratch — not just execute existing plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in regulated environments — medical devices (ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA QSR, MDSAP) or comparable regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with V&V processes, risk management, and release management in regulated contexts.
  • Experience with AI/ML-based products or medical imaging.
  • Experience supporting FDA submissions, MDSAP, or CE audits.

Why This Role Is Unique

  • Build from scratch: Rebuild the entire QA strategy, environments, and approach for regulated products.
  • Full ownership: Own the complete testing lifecycle — from design-phase planning to release approval.
  • Strategic + Hands-on: Define the vision and write the code that delivers it.
  • High impact: Your work directly impacts products used in hospitals worldwide, on real patients.
  • Direct visibility: Report directly to the Quality Director
