Senior Project Manager
About the role:
At the heart of our offering is a versatile software platform for orchestrating complex robotic systems, from industrial robot arms and mobile manipulators to humanoids. Our Forward Deployed engineers bring it into real production environments with international customers and delivery partners.
As Senior Project Manager, you help steer that work. You keep projects on track from POC to production, give team leads a clear picture to decide which projects to take on, and ensure that what we build for one customer flows back into the platform. You work at the staff level alongside product management and technical leadership, and take on whatever else the department needs as it grows. Expect a fast-moving environment where the processes are still being shaped, and you help shape them.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the Forward Deployed project landscape, and prepare prioritization decisions with the team leads by strategic value, technical risk, and commercial return
- Plan scope, milestones, and engineer allocation together with the team leads, and make the trade-offs visible when capacity is tight
- Drive engagements from POC through pilot to production, including on-site commissioning and acceptance
- Act as a key point of contact for customers and delivery partners, with a clear interface between their scope and ours
- Support Sales and Pre-Sales with feasibility assessments and effort estimates
- Coordinate across product teams and AI research without direct line authority
- Make sure features built for customer projects are fed back into the platform as standard capabilities
- Set up lightweight ways of working for planning and reporting that fit how the teams actually work
Essential Skills:
- Degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field
- 5+ years of project management, including meaningful time in a startup, scale-up or other fast-growing tech environment
- Experience with customer-facing projects in robotics, AI or software-heavy automation, and with taking new technology from pilot to production
- Comfortable with immature products and changing requirements: you make progress without waiting for perfect specs
- Solid technical understanding of robotic systems and how mechanics, controls, software and AI work together
- Pragmatic, agile-first project management, with tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Ability to lead through influence and make trade-offs under ambiguity
- Fluent English; willingness to travel around 30% of the time, including on-site customer phases
Beneficial Skills:
- Fluent German; Mandarin is a plus
- Experience in a product company where customer projects drive platform development
- Experience with humanoid or mobile robot deployments
- Familiarity with machinery and functional safety (ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, ISO 3691-4)
