Position Summary
The Senior Network & Cloud Administrator supports the design, stability, and security of ABBYY’s global enterprise network and cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on Network administration (50%), Azure cloud administration (25%), and Linux systems administration (25%). The administrator will collaborate with IT, security, and DevOps teams to maintain high availability, strengthen the security posture, and ensure smooth operations across ABBYY’s hybrid environments. This midlevel position is hands-on and execution-focused, contributing to ongoing improvements while following established standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
50% — Network Engineering & Administration (MidLevel)
- Deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (Cisco, Fortinet, Dell, Ubiquiti) under established standards and guidance.
- Support and manage global WAN/LAN environments, data centers, and cloud network connectivity (Azure VNets, VPN gateways, routing, peering).
- Implement and maintain VLANs, VPNs, SDWAN, firewall rules, NAT, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Troubleshoot network issues including latency, packet loss, outages, and securityrelated events.
- Monitor network health and performance using SolarWinds, PRTG, FortiAnalyzer, or Wireshark, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation including network topology diagrams, routing tables, access lists, and change records.
25% — Azure Cloud Administration (MidLevel)
- Manage and maintain Azure resources including VNets, NSGs, VPN gateways, load balancers, storage, firewalls, and compute.
- Monitor Azure performance, cost usage, security posture, and alerts using Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
- Support identity and access requirements using Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, and rolebased access control.
- Assist with hybrid network connectivity solutions (ExpressRoute, sitetosite VPN).
- Contribute to cloud automation and provisioning using ARM/Bicep templates, Terraform, or PowerShell scripting.
25% — Linux Systems Administration (MidLevel)
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS) in onprem and Azure environments.
- Manage system users, file systems, services, permissions, and baseline security hardening.
- Perform patch management, monitoring, log analysis, and performance tuning.
- Automate routine tasks using Bash, Ansible, or Python.
- Support Linuxbased applications and infrastructure workloads running in hybrid environments.
Collaboration & Support
- Provide Tier 3 support for network, cloud, and Linux-related incidents.
- Work with IT, DevOps, and Security teams to support global initiatives.
- Contribute to automation, documentation, and operational best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years’ experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and/or Ubiquiti networking hardware.
- Working Knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, VPN gateways, routing, firewalls).
- Proficiency in Linux administration (Ubuntu, RHEL, or CentOS).
- Experience with routing protocols, VPN technologies, network security policies.
- Familiarity with monitoring platforms (PRTG, FortiAnalyzer, Azure Monitor).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Azure Administrator (AZ104), RHCSA.
- Experience with automation (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).
- Knowledge of Zero Trust networking and cloud security frameworks.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (Azure + onprem).
