We're looking for a strategic, creative, and hands-on Instructional Designer, eLearning Design to join our team in building and delivering world-class training experiences for ABBYY products. You’ll play a key role in content development, eLearning design, and learning path creation — all while collaborating with technical experts and stakeholders across the business. This is a high-impact role for someone who combines instructional design expertise with technical acumen, clear communication, and a passion for empowering learners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop instructor-led training materials, technical documentation, and user tutorials in English
- Design and deliver eLearning modules and resources using modern authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise, Storyline)
- Manage and improve learning environments, including virtual machines, Learning Management Systems (LMSs), Azure services, the ABBYY University Help Center, ABBYY University Community, and the internal Education Wiki
- Upload, organize, and maintain course modules and SCORM packages, ensuring all content reflects current product versions and standards
- Create structured learning paths and certifications using prerequisites and branching logic
- Monitor learner progress and engagement, analyze metrics, generate reports, and troubleshoot issues related to course start/completion status, time spent, and module progress
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure instructional quality, accuracy, and alignment
- Evaluate training program effectiveness, gather feedback, analyze performance data, and implement content and delivery improvements
- Deliver product trainings, technical enablement sessions, and webinars in English (live and recorded)
- Utilize large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot, to support content development, tone and reading-level consistency, and efficient content iteration
- Share best practices in instructional design and mentor less experienced team members as needed
- Contribute to the overall vision and evolution of ABBYY’s training programs, including tool selection, process improvements, and curriculum development
Job Requirements:
- Advanced PowerPoint and MS Office Suite skills, including designing high-impact visuals, animations, and interactive elements for presentations and training assets
- Expertise in video creation/editing, including use of TechSmith Camtasia or equivalent tools, with attention to pacing, clarity, and production quality
- Mastery of Articulate Rise and Storyline, including branching scenarios, custom interactions, and SCORM/xAPI packaging
- Proficiency with LMS administration, including course creation, learner management, SCORM/xAPI troubleshooting, and reporting
- Comfort with virtual environments, including configuration and troubleshooting of VMWare or comparable tools used in training setups
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) for custom visuals, branding, and multimedia assets
- Fluency in content optimization using LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot) — for ideation, rewriting, readability alignment, and draft review at scale
- Familiarity with product and API documentation, with the ability to translate technical information into accessible learning content
- Experience with collaborative platforms such as Miro, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and SharePoint for developing, managing, and maintaining shared instructional resources
- Strong familiarity with ABBYY product suite is preferred, including:
- Vantage, Vantage Advanced Designer
- Timeline
- FlexiCapture, FlexiLayout Studio
- FineReader Engine, FineReader Desktop, FineReader Server
- FineReader Engine, FineReader Desktop, FineReader Server
Additional Requirements
- Strong grasp of instructional design theory and the ability to apply it in real-world scenarios
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
- Comfortable operating autonomously within defined procedures and collaborating cross-functionally
- The jobholder is expected to take ownership of training content for one or more key ABBYY products and contribute to the team’s overall training strategy
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design in learning
- Background in technical training or enablement for software/SaaS platforms
- Experience using learning analytics to measure impact and improve content
- Experience developing certification paths or structured learning journeys
- Experience with collaborative platforms such as SharePoint, OneNote, Microsoft Teams, and Miro for organizing, developing, and maintaining shared instructional content and training workflows.
- Expected to operate independently across projects with minimal supervision and make decisions aligned with broader training strategy.”
