The Senior Data Security Engineer will lead the strategy and hands-on execution for protecting the organization's sensitive data. You will implement robust data classification, encryption strategies, data loss prevention (DLP), privacy compliance, and AI data governance practices, ensuring alignment with global regulatory standards (GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Data Security Strategy: Develop, implement, and continuously refine comprehensive data protection frameworks and standards aligned with business objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Hands-on Execution: Directly manage data classification, encryption solutions, and DLP processes to safeguard sensitive information across all platforms.
  • Compliance & Privacy: Ensure adherence to global data protection laws and standards (GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA), collaborating closely with Legal, Compliance, IT, and Data Governance teams.
  • AI Compliance: Develop policies ensuring safe and compliant use of data in AI applications.
  • Incident & Risk Management: Collaborate with Security Operations to manage and respond to data-related incidents effectively, identifying risks and mitigating threats proactively.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor, engaging regularly with IT, Security Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Data Governance teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain awareness of evolving threats and emerging technologies, implementing enhancements to maintain the highest standards of data security.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in data security, privacy compliance, or cybersecurity.
  • Expertise in data classification, encryption, and data loss prevention tools and methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of global compliance frameworks (GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CDPSE, CIPP/E).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent.
  • Experience managing data security in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
